Rip off and scam artists

Obviously you can tell by the number of complaints that this business is not legitimate. They ship you the wrong part then charge you 25% to re-stock. They charge your credit card instantly and then its like pulling teeth to get a refund minus the 25%. I would never do business here again and you shouldn't either, its a disaster waiting to happen. We talked to a slick sounding person named Queshima, she says all the right words, but just fails miserably with doing what she says. Our part was not even close to being the part we asked for. i quit the company because of the way it was ran, quemeisha was one of the main drug providers for steve sutton and the general manager Sean Lang and Stacy Sutton Vanguilder. Mr.

Sutton (owner of BASIC Your Best Buy and BASIC Car Parts) is very aware of the situation and would fire any of his employees who brought it to his attention, as the drug slums would remain, HE TRAINS INDIVIDUALS TO GET AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE!!! SORRY YOU GOT CAUGHT UP!!!!

This person in telling the truth. It was the exact same way when I worked there but then it was direct digital and we sold direct TV.

I was a drug dealer at the time supplying pain pills and other pharmaceuticals. Which I had no choice. If I didn't bring drugs to work I would be in for a horrible day or even forced to stop working and get on the phone until I found the drugs they needed. I never had interactions with Steve Sutton but Sean Lang was the problem.

He would encourage a sale at any cost. Even lying to a customer was fine. Anything to up his commission and meet his quota. He was also a coke head.

One drug I didn't deal but think about it.

Why would I admit to being a low life drug dealer if what I was saying wasn't true. I have straightened my life up thus why I'm honest about my past.

Wrong part:you eat it

Hi everybody. Never complained or blogged before but Basic Car Parts customers need to be aware of their policies. If they make an error or their suppliers make an error and send you an incorrect part you will eat 25% of the sales price plus shipping back to them. They also will not answer any of your calls or it will go to voicemail once you inform them of their mistake. I could not get through to any of them until I called through another phone number they did not have, and once I used that phone again, they did not answer any longer. Seemingly, they add each phone number to your account. When I did get through on a new phone number each time, it was just empty promises and no one is ever at the office anymore. They never called back. Read their policies carefully. They do not seem to be fraudulent, but they refuse to eat any monies even if it is their fault for sending you the wrong part. This doesn't make them criminals with intent to defraud, but it does make the consumer liable for any mistake on their or their suppliers fault. This is known as really bad business practice and my recommendation to other consumers is to beware, beware, beware. In my business of 32 years, if I make a mistake to a customer, I fully take financial responsibility for my error. Use their service as if you are at the roulette wheel in Las Vegas, maybe you win and maybe you lose. It cost me $293 for their incompetence. I wished now I would have kept the wrong part and tried to resell it.

Liars & Thieves of all Consumers

I am the latest victim of the company......in short my story is like all others except i got smooth as glass Timmithy James and Amber and Stephanie and i got the managers name and number but no call form him. I did get his machine and of course no call back.........same M.O., we'll get the part right out and even overnight it to you since we have aalready screwed you over one time, but still they had the nerve to send an eail saying it had been sent and it had not even been checked in for pick-up yet....it finally left the illinois state today at 1:41 p.m., and won't be here till late day monday the 9th of may and all this started in april....they lie and keep disconnecting you when you call back and will not return calls and pass you off to all others and say call this number and you will the manager........Mr. Shaun Lang, well thats a joke as he has a machine on perpetual answer mode.....and will not ------- actually i think he chooses to refuse to return all calls-------and thats even worse, and i am mad because if i had checked w/ you first i would not be doing this now.....an expensive and time consuming lesson but one well learned......i lost a days pay and also an hr. mechanics fee waiting for a part that has never shown up and probably will not show .......Amber and Stephanie( the service parts manager) should get academy awards for their beng able to feign actual concern while really blowing us the consumer off.and Mr. timmithy James should get the Lifetime Achievement Award for his being able to lie with such ease, and sound so convincing and sincere......even when you call him back he sounded like he was really going to get the answer and the right tracking number for you finally..........BUT ONCE AGAIN IT WAS ALL ACTING FOR THE MONEY..............AND THIS IS ALL ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR.........NOT CUSTOMERS,AS WE COME AND GO BUT THE DOLLAR WILL BE HERE FOREVER AS FAR AS THEY ARE COCNERNED, AND THAT IS ALL THEY ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE DOLLAR..........I HAVE LOGGED COMPLAINTS W/ALL OTHER AGENCIES I CAN FIND AND AVE DOCUMENTATION TO BACK IT ALL UP, NOT THAT IT WILL GET ME ANYTHING, BUT AT LEAST I HAVE A CLEAN CONSCIENCE..... Unscrupulous Buisness Practices

Folks, this is a BAD company to do business with. If you got what you ordered, congratulations. If you have any problems at all you will get to know Amber, the sales clerk, and Stephani, the credit manager. My misadventure: I have been looking for a particular part for a particular model and year. I had exhausted most of the related car parts places until I ran across this web site. Talked to Amber and gave her the specifics of what I needed. She nodded like a bobblehead and proceeded to order my part. When I received the package, what I got wasn't even close. The part was for a model 10 years older than mine. The part itself was one and one quarter inches larger in diameter than the one I have.So I called back to get an RMA to return it (at a cost of $16.62). Amber shot me over to Stephanie who tried to tell me that according to their books the part fits. Well, I finally got Stephanie to send me an RMA. I returned the part the very next day. Finally got delivery confirmation 5 days later from UPS. Tried to get back to Amber. That took 4 days. And again, Amber shuffled me on to Stephanie. Stephanie wanted to send out another part. I told her I had no confidence that they could do it right and wanted credit back to my credit card. Basic Car Parts had originally charged me $101.63. So the credit I got back was for $91.63. They stiffed me for $10.00. And I'm out another $16.62 for return shipping costs. Their customer service is absolutely sociopathic. I have never had to deal with any company on the web as I have done for this one. And I'm not a novice at this. A dozen emails, voice messages not returned. Just pure aggravation! I have filed a billing dispute with my credit card company. I have received my full refund, but I'm still out the return shipping cost. If you're reading this, you kind of get the gist of things. Done with the research, go somewhere else.

Used Truck parts

In March 2011 I called Basic car parts to order two used parts for my truck .When I received the parts, one of the part was defected and couldn't be used. I called back customer service,and told them about the bad part and requested that they send me one that I can use in my truck. They told me that I had to pay for the return shipping even if they would have send me the wrong part, and that was there policy. This Company is a FRAUD !!!!!!!! DON'T DO BUSINESS with them. Car parts complements are not a big issues.If car parts have any problems then there should be such basic complaints occurred which the corresponding company have to enhance their product design and maintenance strategies.Excellent stuffs for every car users.used truck parts

Sent a part that I didnt order and charged me!

I called Basic Car Parts in November looking for a "show car quality bumper" for my husband's car and a sales rep named Derrick said he could find me one. I made it perfectly clear to Derrick that I was looking for a perfect bumper. He said he had found one for me and would email me pictures before charging my accounts. However, he never sent pictures. Instead, he sent me a rusted part and charged me for it! I didn't order a rusted out hunk of junk!!!!!! Who in their right mind would pay $474.88 for a rusted bumper? When I called to dispute the order with the company, I was told by Derrick that he could only refund me $50. I was irate! I am not without fault here. I was dumb enough to give Derrick my credit card information. He was only supposed to use it to verify that I had the funds available, but I believe that he planned to rip me off from the start. To top it off, he has since been fired along with the representative that eventually, in March, refunded part of my money and had the bumper picked up and returned to the supplier. Well, I have tried to work with the company to get my money back and had a little luck. The company stole $474.88 from me and has only returned $290.00 of it. I have spoke with the General Manager, Mr. Lang and he told me that shipping was $136 and I am responsible for it. I told him that I disagreed and our conversation deteriorated from there. Basically, I feel that they should refund the entire amount and Mr. Lang thinks that I should have to pay $184.88 for a $136 shipping fee! I told him to *** MY ***! Not my best moment but I was angry. I believe that the company is liable for the damage caused by their unethical employee not the unsuspecting customer!

DO NOT BUY FROM BASIC AUTO PARTS, they make money on shipping you the wrong parts and denying your full refund as promised!!!! They add a 25% restocking fee even though they DO NOT STOCK ANY PARTS plus charge you for shipping even though the receipt says it is FREE!!!!! This company is just a giant order taking, money making organization! Supervisor will not return my calls, waited one month for a refund and lost $90 in the deal!!!!I will never buy parts from this company or any other company without investigating them and getting all promises in writing!!!! Buy directly from the junkyard!!!! Original salesperson left the company and they would not honor his promises unless in writing. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE at this company!!!

This is the worst company ever. Yes, you will be able to contact someone when you're trying to make a purchase but on the contrast if you're making a complaint..you will not get any cooperation. I can admit...the representative will talk nicely but will give you the total run around..I didn't get my part that I paid $300.00 for and they NEVER REFUNDED ME!!! Thank God I had proof of purchase and printed out my phone records...Regions returned all of my money...but Basic Car Parts didnt!!!! In all, I made 23 calls to settle the situation..Nothing was settle!!! Worst company ever...DO NOT BUY!!!!!!

Warning do not do business with Basic Car Parts. This place delivered the wrong part, i got feeling the customer representative knew and did it on purpose to make her commission. I verified with them to make sure the part is right. they said their 100% sure. So finally when they refunded the money they charge me almost $118.75 restocking fee for their mistake. so i got charge for nothing. their there when you want to buy something but if you have problems its like dealing with irs. good luck getting anyone. i also had to pay for fed ex out of my own pocket. i pray that this place goes out of business.

I have never delt with such a crooked company in my life, i paid 400 dollars for a back door for my van and i asked if it had a pop out glass in it, and they said yes when it arrived it was all bent up, the packaging looked fine, and i was out of town, so it was two weeks before i saw it, and it had big rust spots on it and everything, i told them i wanted a refund, and they said not unit i paid to send it back, i was told it was going to cast me about 125.00 to repackage it and send it back, and i told them forget it, they can pay for it but they won't because they said the door will fit, even though the glass is different, so i ate the cost of the door, and bought the correct one from a local salvage yard

Terrible company to deal with. I am sitting on this order for 2 weeks now and not only do I not have any idea of where my part is, whether it was shipped or not, the tracking info and such, but I also can't get through on the phone to talk to anybody.

And if you write them a letter of complaint to customer service on their website, well, guess what? They just forward it to the agent that sold you the parts.

At that point, the agent is the last person I'd want to talk to. I wish I saw this site before I placed my order.

this company is the worst place to deal with. i placed an order and never recieved a tracking number later to be told a week later that it was never shipped.

so i cancelled the order and was told that it would be 5 days that the money would be returned to my card....never happened. i called and called but never could get someone on the phone and when i finally did come to find that my order not refunded and had the wrong dates. many days later after getting to talk to a manager who claim she will deal w this herself, guess what.......still no refund! my credit card company told me that they cancelled the order finally but never returned the money plus when bcp sent an email for a refund it was the wrong price and i never got that either.

at this point the credit card company has me to send emails and statements to take legal action today. JUST BECAUSE THEY CANCELLD DONT MEAN THEY RETURNED MONEY.

my first and last time w these scammers!

Stay away from these ***-men!

A salesmanager at Basiccarparts has been very helpful in supporting my claim with UPS resulting in my being reimbursed for the full purchase value of this part. This was a long and difficult process (5 months) and I do want to thank her for her willingness to help me out.

This is my worst internet purchase experience sofar. Granted, I should have done my research first but got confused between all the sites I had looked into and the ones I hadn't...My bad, but I thought I had some slack there since she said it could not be shipped to a (my) residential adress. So I told her I would see what I could do and call her back the next day and the sale would depend on me finding a commercial shipping adress. After having looked up some reviews of them I tried to cancel the order the very next day. No way; "the order had already been shipped" and my card had already been debited. Strangely enough, after that, it took 5 weeks to travel to my home...Right... And, of course, what I received was not the part that we had agreed upon while I had described what I needed in full detail and she confirmed that that was what I would get and I even had her confirm my specifications by email. Well, kind of... She left so much room for interpretation there by giving me a pretty vague description that by now my doubts about this purchase were confirmed. But of course this was all after the fact. I had bought it...A $550,- cheaply, sloppy made, unpainted, unprimed, piece of junk front bumper cover that does not fit my car even if I would like to put it on. I can send it back of course at my own expense and hope and pray for a pathetic refund after they *** the 30% restocking fee... But the way these people adress you when you get on the phone with them for any other reason than making a purchase does not make this seem like a viable option. Luckily (I hope) the UPS guy knocked the part over in my driveway causing a lot of damage (the thing was just stuck on a wooden pallet with some foil wrapped around it). So I hope to get my money back by filing a claim with UPS and have not bothered with Basiccarparts anymore. They are to slippery anyway. Apparently they have been doing this for many years and using your credit card company to get your money back does not impress them... This merchant truly deserves to be sued out of business though.

Yeah. I worked for them last year and it's nothing but a call center that scams people.

They actually get the parts you request from a site called www.car-parts.com , which you can access from your own home. They charge you almost three times what you would pay if you ordered directly from the site. It's *** crazy. I was fired because someone stole money from my cubicle.

When I complained, I was told to leave. Sad that they even rip off their own employees.

Should have read these complaints before choosing a vendor

Basic Car Parts is a rip off and Thad's how they stay in business. They quoted me an engine with 20k but after installing it, it would not start. After paying a mechanic to install it i took it to a dealership at Basic Car Parts request to run diagnostics. Turned out the engine has more than 100k and 0 compression. The manager now wants to know what I want them to do about it and when i him they just ignore me. The manager now is offering a refund as long as i pay to ship the engine back at my cost which is approximately $700.00 for a refund of $500.00. I have already paid $700.00 to install it and another $200.00 to tow it to a dealership 100 miles from home. I paid $1200.00 for the engine from Basic.

Wrong Radiator Refused Refund. Rats!

From Basic Car Parts, I ordered a radiator for my 95 Mercedes 500SL. I was invoiced for a 92 Mercedes. I said I had a 500SL, not a sedan. They insisted it was the correct one, they shipped it. Imagine my lack of surprise when I took it out of the box and inspected it, next to the one in my car. It was the wrong one. I was told to return the wrong one at my expense and they would give me a credit until they found the right one. I told them to send me a pre-paid shipping ticket and credit my card, immediately. They refused.

Stacey, Bo called me about ANOTHER wrong radiator sent to me.

Why should the consumer have to pay to return the faulty merchandise? It wasn't my fault.

I'm supposed to spend another $25 and then wait to get reimbursed, when you can e-mail me pre-paid postage label?

I don't think so.

What's so hard about that? Bo said there was nobody in that department, at this time.

I work for Basic Car Parts, after seeing this and researching to find out what is being done on this order, I found that just yesterday, on April 7, 2011 9:19:11 AM, this customer called requesting a return label and was told that we do not send out labels by our service manager as he say's, however he is failing to mention that we told him we would reimburse him for the return shipping costs in addition to a full refund as a result of receiving the incorrect part.

if you call them everyday and write a nasty e-mail to there customer service rep they will hesitently give you what you want make sure you threaten to use an attorney if needed and with all the complaints againt them it will work thats what i had to do

Sent incomplete parts

one month ago I ordered truck doors from basic car parts.com i finally recieved them after a month one door was complete, the other is missing half the parts, they don't answer the phones or e-mails (what a surprise) since they didnt before either, while I was waitng for shipment. This is the absolute worst company I have delt with in 15 years of classic car parts searching. the prices are way to high and they dont ship what they tell you they would. my calls and emails go unheeded. go somewhere else! and please check them out first!

Will not answer phone calls

this company is terrible at answering or returning phone calls. first, they got the shipping address wrong, then never called, saying it was shipped, but never was! almost a month later i still haven't recieved the parts. and of course, they still are not calling me back or even answering their phones! I would not recommend them to anyone! you can and should check elsewhere, you can get the parts cheaper. How maqny times do you have to try to call them? I have tried for the last several days. No answer. None of their numbers will take yoy to anyone who answers.

Basic-car-parts sent me the wrong part

I ordered a rear door for my chevy express van and was told it would be the same as what I had on it, when it showed up I was out of town because it took three days longer than they said it would, and i did not get back in town for two weeks and then I found it was rotted out badly, and I didn't like that, but even worse it was bent up, and it also didn't have a movable window, so it wouldn't match the other door the dealer told me that I wouldn't be able to just take my window out and put it in that door, so the door was worthless not to say ugly and they wouldn't give me a RMA number to return it because they could see no problems other THAN THE RUST that was a big deal to me i have a rust free vehicle I ended up buying another door localy that wasn't rusted I haven't heard back from sean after two months went by because he knows that he does't have to worry about anything DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM BASIC CAR PARTS

Bait and switch on ford auto part

I ordered a rear differential for a repair on my 2003 f150. Staff at Basic assured me they had a part with 54,000 miles and exactly the tag number I requested. Never sent order confirmation, shipped a 2002 part with 127,000 miles and badly corroded, verbally confirmed the tag number but acual was completely different...all lies. I returned part to junkyard they had dropped ship from at my expense and per their web site instructions/guaranty and still have no credit fo $650.00!! Bait and switch. Never replied to my emails regading the credit. They also want to charge a re-stock fee which is clearly covered in their warranty that they will be responsible for entire value if they ship the wrong part. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PIRATES! Credit Card payment dispute is pending. Check BBB in LA. Also check on-line complaints before you risk an order.
